Ben Chilwell has described Cole Palmer as a ‘top’ player, following his involvement in Chelsea’s 6-1 (6-2 aggregate) win against Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
Palmer dusted off the disappointment that came with missing a few sitters in the reverse fixture at the Riverside Stadium weeks ago, as he bagged two goals in yesterday’s semi-final clash at Stamford Bridge.
Chilwell, who also made his first Chelsea start in many months, said of his 21-year-old teammate: “He is top. He is so chilled on and off the pitch. You can see when he scores it’s so nonchalant. It doesn’t faze him.
“He is a top guy and a top player and it is important that he continues this. This season he has been brilliant and he is so important to us. We have a massive game on Friday and hopefully, he can help us again.”
Chelsea will find out who their opponent at the final will be on Wednesday night when Liverpool visit Craven Cottage to play Fulham in the other semi-final clash.
