According to The Guardian, Chelsea has shown interest in signing 36-year-old Karim Benzema, currently with Al-Ittihad.
This interest arises as Chelsea is looking to bolster their attacking options.
Benzema is reportedly unsettled in Saudi Arabia and is open to returning to Europe in 2024. He has been left out of Al-Ittihad’s Dubai training camp, intensifying speculation about his future.
Arsenal is also interested in Benzema, creating competition for Chelsea in acquiring the striker. Lyon, another interested party, is reportedly unable to finance a move for Benzema, giving Chelsea and Arsenal an edge.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has noted that as of now, there are no active negotiations involving Chelsea for any forward, including Benzema, but the situation is still evolving.
