Chelsea star, Conor Gallagher has everything it takes to become as good as former Liverpool and England midfielder, Jordan Henderson.

This is according to Chelsea hero, Joe Cole, who made the prediction at the launch of the Green Football Weekend at Wembley stadium recently.

Henderson, who now plays for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie after terminating his contract with Al-Ettifaq, was once a key figure for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.

The 33-year-old was not just captain of the Reds prior to his exit, but he was also instrumental to them winning a lot of trophies, including the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.

Henderson was also captain of the Liverpool team that beat Chelsea in the final to win the Carabao Cup and FA Cup back in 2022.

While discussing Gallagher, Cole said, as quoted by the Evening Standard: “Conor Gallagher is a crucial one and is the face of the club. He’s a captain in the leadership group, so to take him out of the team now would not be good.

“If I was advising him, I’d tell him he has a big future at Chelsea. I think what Jordan Henderson was to Liverpool, he can be that for Chelsea.”

Despite his wonderful displays for Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea this season, Gallagher’s future remains unsettled at the club, as more reports continue to link the 23-year-old with an exit from Stamford Bridge, especially with his contract set to expire next year.
