Chelsea are set to be left disappointed, following Karim Benzema’s decision to not leave the Saudi Pro League.

The 36-year-old was reported to be unsettled, and is seeking a move away from Al-Ittihad, where he moved last summer after leaving Real Madrid.

The Blues, who are reportedly in need of a new striker were rumoured to be keen on taking advantage of the situation to bring the forward to Stamford Bridge, but that may no longer be the case after his agent, Karim Djaziri outlined his commitment to honouring his deal with Al-Ittihad.

Chelsea have also been linked with former Liverpool star, Roberto Firmino, and may now turn to the Brazilian as an alternative.

Firmino is yet to start a game for Al Ahli since last October.
