Chelsea youngster, Diego Moreira has expressed his happiness over joining a top football club like Chelsea.

Moreira is one of the many young players that have been brought in at Stamford Bridge under the new Chelsea ownership.

The 19-year-old played for Benfica prior to the transfer, despite being born in Belgium.

In a recent interview with DH, Moreira stated that it was a career goal of his to play for the Blues, and he now feels very excited for the future.

He said: “I had a pretty crazy start to the summer. This is a goal that I achieved by signing for this great club and I have already been able to learn a lot there.

“In particular, I was able to participate in the pre-season and the trip to the United States in contact with all these great players.”

Moreira has made just one senior appearance for Chelsea, following his involvement in the Carabao Cup game against AFC Wimbledon earlier this season. The Portuguese U-21 international was also a part of Chelsea’s pre-season engagements before he was sent on loan to Lyon, where he has now made nine appearances.
