Eden Hazard may have left the Premier League long ago, but the impression he made while in the division will last for many years to come.
The 33-year-old spent seven years with Chelsea in England, winning six major trophies in that time. He also recorded an impressive 202 goal contributions in a total of 352 matches.
Scott McTominay is one of the many talented players that the Belgian got to play against during his career in England, and the 27-year-old has now admitted just how good the Chelsea legend was.
McTominay was recently asked which player was the best midfielder he ever faced, to which he replied FootballJOE’s YouTube channel: “In terms of midfield players the game changes so much and it’s so fluid. You have people like Eden Hazard dropping into a No 10 role when you’re playing deeper and you have to defend against him.
“He’s predominantly a winger and an attacker, but sometimes you do come up one vs one against him throughout 45 minutes if they’re changing players in a system, so I would say him.”
After an underwhelming spell with Real Madrid in Spain, Hazard decided to hang up his boots in 2023, but he did win many trophies with the La Liga giants before taking the decision.
