Chelsea have recalled Cesare Casadei from loan at Leicester City.

This was confirmed in an official statement from the club, via chelseafc.com on Friday evening.

The statement said: “Casadei made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes this season and scored three goals.

“The 21-year-old joined the Blues in August 2022 from Inter Milan and was part of the first-team squad that travelled to the United States for pre-season in the summer.”

Casadei was at Leicester for six months, and really impressed for the Championship side. It is believed that his return might be connected to the injuries that were recently suffered by Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu.

The 21-year-old joins Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana as on the list of players that had their initial loan deals cut short by Chelsea, even though the Ivorian is now with Burnley until the end of the season.
