Axel Disasi has tipped Chelsea teammate, Enzo Fernandez to become as good as Cesc Fabregas was during his prime.
Enzo joined the Blues from Benfica about a year ago for the hefty sum of £106m.
Prior to the transfer, the 23-year-old Argentine was one of the players that took part in Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar, helping them to the final, which they eventually won with a hard-fought victory against France.
Enzo was also named Young Player of the tournament, despite being just 21 years old at the time.
Since his move to Stamford Bridge, the midfielder has often come under criticism by some for not performing as well as they expect him to, but Disasi has no doubt there’s plenty of potential for the World Cup winner.
“Enzo Fernandez can reach Fabregas’s level. He is a player who has great quality, is still young and has the whole future ahead of him. So of course, he can,” Disasi told Capital Football.
Fabregas enjoyed a very successful career, while playing at the top for a long time, including spells at Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, and AS Monaco. He also made 110 caps for his country, before leaving international football.
Enzo has certainly shown he has the potential to reach the same level, but he will have to keep in mind that he can only do so through hard work and commitment.
