Chelsea haven’t got a clue what they’re doing – Brazilian warned not to join Chelsea

Danny Murphy has made an argument for why it wouldn’t be a good idea for Roberto Firmino to move to Chelsea.

Firmino has not exactly enjoyed his stay in Saudi Arabia so far this season, and many reports are now suggesting that the Brazilian wants to leave.

Chelsea are tipped to be the Liverpool legend’s next destination, but Murphy thinks joining the Blues would do his legacy with the Reds some harm.

Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo: “I was surprised to see Roberto Firmino has been linked with a move to Chelsea this month. I know it’s not happening for him in Saudi Arabia. For what he has done for Liverpool, if that ends up being what he wants, so be it.

“But Chelsea are in for everyone, they haven’t got a clue what they’re doing. If he wants to go to Chelsea, he’s had his good days at Liverpool. He was great for us.

“Would it taint it if he went there? I think it will taint it a little bit, I think it would a little bit with some fans, but they’d never ever forget what he did for Liverpool though.

“One thing I will say is it would be different to Fernando Torres. Torres came and he was brilliant. Absolutely amazing. But he pushed for a move to Chelsea.”
