Which is Chelsea standard; Jackson  or Broja? Jamie O’Hara reveals who should be playing for Chelsea

Jamie O’Hara has claimed that both Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja are never going to be good enough for a club like Chelsea after watching them for the last four months.

The two players have been tasked with leading the line for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season, but they have only managed to produce 10 goals after 21 games.

Jackson, who was brought in from Villarreal over the summer, has eight goals to his name, while Broja has netted twice, even if the Albanian has mostly played as backup to his African counterpart.

O’Hara thinks that both players have had enough time to show that they can step up to the challenge of playing for Chelsea, and it’s now time for the club to step up and bring in a better striker.

When discussing Jackson and Broja on talkSPORT, the pundit said: “They’re not good enough. You can make a judgement on someone in three months. They’ve brought them in, they’re not good enough. Chelsea need a star striker… They’re never going to be good enough.

“There’s plenty of top players around at 22 years of age where you know they’re going to be incredible players.

“I’m sorry, Nicolas Jackson and Broja are not going to be standout performers for Chelsea.”

We do agree with O’Hara that Chelsea need to get a more lethal goalscorer, but the truth remains that there is currently a shortage of such a player in the market at the moment. Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, who have been heavily linked with the Blues will not come cheap, and we’re not sure if Chelsea can actually afford them right now, with the FFP axe that’s been dangling over their head for the past few months.

Jackson, for one has certainly not done badly in what has been his debut season in the Premier League, and we believe that with more patience and hard work, the 22-year-old can improve on what he has delivered for Chelsea so far.
