Premier League chief, Richard Masters has confirmed that investigation is still ongoing into Chelsea’s spending on transfers in the past few years.
It was reported on Monday, that Premier League rivals, Nottingham Forest and Everton have been charged with breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules by the league management body.
Masters recently gave an update about the Premier League’s status investigation into Chelsea’s financial dealings.
“On Chelsea, as you know, the new owners came forward with information to The FA, UEFA and Premier League about previous ownership and we’re still investigating that,” Masters said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“We don’t announce the outcome of that until we have completed those investigations.”
Chelsea and Manchester City are among the clubs still facing investigation from the Premier League, but there’s a feeling of assurance on the part of the Todd Boehly-led ownership at Stamford Bridge that whatever happens, the Blues will not be on the receiving end of any harsh punishments, having not broken any financial laws since their takeover.
