Axel Disasi has hailed Thiago Silva as a ‘great’ player, following Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Fulham at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

Silva and Disasi played in central defence, while Malo Gusto and Levi Colwill lined up at right-back and left-back respectively.

The Brazilian was again, at his best in the narrow win, which saw Chelsea climb to ninth on the Premier League table.

Disasi has partnered Silva in central defence more than any other player at Chelsea this season, and the Frenchman appears to be cherishing their time together.

After the win on Saturday, he said, as quoted by football.london: “Everyone knows the quality of Thiago.

“He’s a very great player. He has lots of experience and every day I try to learn from him. I try also to help him with my strength. It’s good to play with him.”

Silva is expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, with his current contract running out in June. It would be sad to see the 39-year-old leave, but we hope he is able to make more impact in those around him at the club before then.
