Still hasn’t convinced me: Pundit criticises two Chelsea stars, and says they are not worth the amount the Blues paid for them

Football pundit, Robbie Earle has slammed Chelsea pair, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez for not doing enough during last weekend’s 1-0 win over Fulham.

The Blues are now up to ninth on the Premier League table after the win, thanks to a penalty from Cole Palmer late in the first half.

Caicedo and his South American teammate, Enzo were fielded alongside one another in Chelsea’s midfield, while Conor Gallagher played just a little ahead of the two.

Todd Boehly and his Chelsea co-owners spent a combined £221m to sign Caicedo and Enzo last year, and they haven’t been bad at all, even if they have had a few bad outings. However, there are those who expect them to do more, as suggested by Earle during his comments on The 2 Robbies podcast after the win against Marco Silva’s men.

The pundit said: “If I was the opposition, it doesn’t really worry me. There was a time in the game when Fulham started to put some passes together, certainly down the left-hand side Willian and Antonee Robinson, they were starting to look dangerous.

“The midfield of Chelsea couldn’t control the match, couldn’t put a dampener on Fulham to control and to cure. They ended up winning 1-0 and a few scrambles and things, couple of good blocks and a few chances missed for Fulham.

“But, I’m still looking at this midfield to show me, now again I looked at their ages. Enzo’s 22, Caicedo’s 22, so they’re very young and I’m not saying that they need time and they’re inexperienced, but there’s just under 100 Premier League games in between them. I’m not seeing enough at the moment, I saw some people saying Caicedo showed how good a player he’s going to be, he still hasn’t convinced me.”
