Sterling tells his Chelsea teammates what to do to start scoring more goals

Raheem Sterling has admitted that one major problem he and his Chelsea teammates have had to deal with this season is that they tend to be very impatient and nervy when they fail to score in the early stages of a game.

According to official Premier League statistics, Chelsea have missed more chances than any other side this season.

The Blues went through a similar experience last weekend when they played Fulham, even though Chelsea ended up winning the game 1-0.

“If we don’t get the first in the first 15 minutes, we can try to overdo it… we just need to keep patient,” Sterling told the official Chelsea website.

“It can look nervy at times but the more you win the more confidence the group has, the more the fans are behind you and you can relax and see the football come out a bit better.”

The 29-year-old added: “That’s what it takes, we just need to keep winning, keep building that momentum and little by little you can see the improvement. That’s what we know the fans deserve and that’s what we need to keep doing, keep building on these things and keep trying to win.

“We know what we need to do, keep working and keep winning games. That’s what’s expected at a football club like Chelsea. It’s another step in the right direction and another three points that we can build on. We’ve got the fans behind us here and that gives us the belief.”
