Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel has singled out Conor Gallagher for praise, amid the great work the 23-year-old has done at Chelsea this season.

Gallagher, who could barely get into the starting XI under former Chelsea bosses, Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, has become an important part of the team under Mauricio Pochettino, playing in all but one of the Blues’ league games this season.

According to the official website of the Premier League, no other player in the division has managed the 47 fouls committed by the midfielder this season, which speaks to the amount of effort and dedication he puts into his game.

Per WhoScored, Gallagher has also averaged 1.4 interceptions in every match he has been involved in for Chelsea this season, leading Mikel Obi to claim that no other player gives their all for the club when compared to the Chelsea academy product.

The former Nigerian midfielder said on the Obi One podcast: “He gives his all, he is running, he is tackling. He is giving 110%. Conor is the one player I will single out and say he is fighting for the badge. Apart from Conor, I would say there is nobody else really.”

It is believed that Chelsea are still open to selling Gallagher this January, or later in the summer, as they look to raise some funds for more signings, but getting him will not be easy, as some reports claim that the England international could command as much as £60m in the transfer market.
