Chelsea returned to winning ways earlier on Saturday, with a 1-0 win against Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer scored the lone goal for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as Chelsea climbed two places up to eighth on the Premier League table.

The Blues were very dominant for most of the game, and created plenty of chances, until the latter stages when Fulham threatened to get an equaliser. But Pochettino has now revealed that there was an incident before kick-off that affected the way his side performed in the first period.

“The first half wasn’t the first half that we planned,” the Argentine said at a press conference after Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Fulham.

“Something happened before the game that I cannot explain. I think that it affected the team a little bit.”

Pressed to say more about what the incident was, Pochettino added: “No, no. Nothing. Nothing, sorry. It’s nothing big. Small details that sometimes affect the team.

“You need to know that something affected the performance in my opinion but it’s not important for you or our fans to know, sorry.”

At this time, we’re still unsure as to what the issue could have been, but if it was anything serious, rest assured that we will share more details as they come in.
