Chris Sutton gives prediction for Chelsea vs Fulham London derby clash

Chris Sutton has predicted a home win for Chelsea when the Blues host Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues were on a three-match winning streak before they suffered a surprise 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday. Not many expected the result to turn out the way it did, but that hasn’t stopped Sutton from backing his former club to claim maximum points at home against a Fulham side that have only won one of their 10 matches on the road so far.

The pundit told BBC Sport: “Chelsea had won three games in a row in all competitions and were showing a bit of consistency before they lost to Middlesbrough in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

“I think they have made some progress this season, but only because of how bad they were last season. They have been average all season and I was expecting a lot more from the money they have spent.

“I’ve backed them, and been wrong many times, so do I make the same mistake again? It doesn’t help that there’s not too many reasons to go with Fulham here. Their last league game was their excellent home win over Arsenal.

“But their form away from home is poor. Marco Silva’s side always seem to carry a threat when I watch them but they have won only one out of 10 games on the road. Against my better judgement, I am going for a Chelsea victory.”

Sutton’s final prescription: Chelsea 2 vs 1 Fulham
