Chelsea edge past Fulham at home to move up the Premier League table

Chelsea are back to winning ways after picking up a much-needed 1-0 win against Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Cole Palmer scored from the penalty spot to help Mauricio Pochettino’s men to victory over a stubborn Fulham side.

The goal came in first half added time, after Raheem Sterling was brought down in the area by Issa Diop.

The Blues were generally a lot better than they were when they played Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. They created a lot of chances, and were just unlucky not to score from most of them, including a late effort from Conor Gallagher that ended up hitting the post.

The game also saw both Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka make their Chelsea returns after spending the past few months on the sidelines with injuries.

With the win, Chelsea are now up to eight on the league table, although that could change before the end of the weekend, with some other teams yet to play.
