Conor Gallagher has backed Reece James to have a great career for himself at international level.
James is one of the many Chelsea stars that currently represent the England national team, with the rest being Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Ben Chilwell.
Chelsea captain, James has already attained 16 senior caps for the Three Lions, and Gallagher believes he can go on to achieve even greater things in the future.
The 23-year-old midfielder recently picked his favourite England XI while speaking with the official Three Lions website, and included James in the side, as he went on to say: “He’s going to have a great England career, I’m sure of it. Reece is a top player. He’s another one I grew up with at Chelsea, and we’re good mates.”
James is undoubtedly one of the best players in his position in the world, but the 24-year-old has missed so many games due to recurrent injury problems. He was absent at the FIFA World Cup in December 2022 for the same reason, and has not played for England for a while.
The 2024 European Championship is coming soon now, and the right-back will be hoping he can have a good run of matches when he recovers, so as to stand a good chance of being picked by as one of the contingents for the tournament by Gareth Southgate.
