Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure as Chelsea boss following the poor form of the team this season.
Despite spending £1billion on signing new players since Todd Boehly bought the club, Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League after 20 games this season.
The latest low point came on Tuesday as Chelsea lost the first leg of our Carabao Cup semi-final to Championship club Middlesbrough.
According to The Telegraph via Metro, Pochettino’s job as Chelsea boss is safe for now while Chelsea have a ‘realistic chance’ of qualifying for Europe.
Should Chelsea fail to finish in the top four, Chelsea can secure a place in the Europa League next season with a fifth place finish or by winning the FA Cup.
Winning the Carabao Cup guarantees a place in the Europa Conference League next season.
That means that, for now, Chelsea still have a realistic chance of qualifying for Europe and therefore Pochettino is in no danger of losing his job.
