John Mikel Obi had nothing but good words to say, when he spoke about his countryman, and Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface.
Boniface was recently invited on Obi Mikel’s Obi One podcast, where he got to speak about a lot of things.
The 23-year-old has excelled with Leverkusen this season, scoring 10 goals, and picking up an impressive seven assists.
The Daily Mail recently linked the Nigerian forward with a transfer to Chelsea, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side continue their search for a very potent finisher, with both Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja underwhelming considerably.
While speaking about Boniface on his podcast, Obi Mikel described the player as one that has a lot of talent, and went on to back him to reach the very top of his career.
The ex-Chelsea midfielder said: “He will become a complete striker in the next couple of years. He has the physique, he is quick, good on the ball, technically very good and it’s difficult to see strikers that are that big and strong and powerful and then good on the ball as well.
“His assists as well, not just scoring goals, is something that will make this kid special, really, really special. I can’t wait to see what his journey will be in the next couple of years.”
