Tony Cascarino has claimed that Pervis Estupinan is a better player than Marc Cucurella.

Estupinan joined Brighton in 2022, following Cucurella’s move to Stamford Bridge.

The Seagulls paid Villarreal £14.9m for the Ecuadorian, while Chelsea paid them a whopping £62m for Cucurella.

Cucurella has struggled to find his best form since his transfer to Chelsea, with the Spaniard often having to play second-fiddle to Ben Chilwell.

The 25-year-old recently had a good run at right-back in the absence of Reece James, before picking up his own injury, but Cascarino has now claimed that his successor at Brighton is a better player than he is.

The pundit said on talkSPORT: “I think he’s way better than Cucurella. I think he’s way ahead. He’s a much more physical, accomplished, dangerous, wing-back and full-back. I think they’ll probably get between £60m and £80m for him if they really had to sell him.

“I think someone would pay it if they really feel they need that type of [player]. I just love what he gives to a team. I think he’s one of the best out there.”
