Mauricio Pochettino has suggested he will not be fielding a weak side when Chelsea take on Preston North End in the FA Cup this weekend.
The Blues will welcome Preston to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon, with hopes of progressing to the next stage of the tournament.
The Lilywhites come into the clash, having won just one of their last five games, and sit 14th on the Championship table. And as for Chelsea, they look a much-stronger outfit after winning three of their four games in the festive season, but Pochettino has insisted he won’t be changing much to the side that beat Luton 3-2 last weekend.
“Not too many changes,” Pochettino said when asked if he would make some adjustments to his squad for Saturday.
“Playing with the circumstances of course, not going to change too much the team. Once or twice, players normally not in the starting XI but we need to anticipate problems.
“We take like a Premier League game, it’s not because it’s the FA Cup. Full respect to Preston and tomorrow you will see.
“[Momentum is] always important, we are winners, we want to win. Need to work more and more and more.
“It’s going to be really important to go through to the competition and be in the next round but before we need to compete well and be better.”
