Glen Johnson has stated that it’s too soon for Chelsea to re-sign Dominic Solanke from AFC Bournemouth.
Solanke developed himself as a young player at Chelsea before he left in 2017. The 26-year-old initially signed for Liverpool, but after finding it difficult to establish himself at the club, before he joined the Cherries.
This season, the former Chelsea striker has done well for Bournemouth, scoring 12 Premier League goals, and there have been rumours of a reported interest from the Blues, although Johnson reckons a move back to Stamford Bridge may be too early for the him.
“I think a move like that would be too soon for Dominic,” the former Blues defender said, via GGRecon. “He’s beginning to show a better end product and he’s beginning to realise the potential that Liverpool saw in him when they signed him.
“It’s great to see him scoring regularly in the Premier League, but for me he hasn’t done it for long enough for a club like Chelsea to sign him.”
Solanke is reportedly valued at £50m, but Simon Phillips has debunked reports he’s a wanted striker by Chelsea.
