Jamie Carragher shocked Chelsea owners want to sell Chelsea’s best player this season in January

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea’s decision to sell Conor Gallagher in January highlights the ‘mess’ the club’s new owners have created.

While expensive midfield recruits Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have struggled for consistency, Gallagher’s relentless energy and commitment to the cause have been vital for the Blues this season.

Chelsea’s need to balance the books after the new owners spent £1billion on new players means selling a home grown player would represent pure profit on their balance sheet.

Reports emerged on Saturday claiming Chelsea are in talks to sell Gallagher to Tottenham Hotspur in January despite his importance to the team.

Carragher wrote on X: “Gallagher has been Chelsea’s best player this season along with Cole Palmer, this just shows what a mess the new ownership have made at the club. Selling an academy player because it helps with FFP.”

That’s why under this ownership Chelsea is very far to win games because they Rush to sell important players to the rivals. The Connor has been brilliant and you can think of selling him? Definitely, I agree that it is a big mess. Gallagher is better than both two heavy New signed midfielders Enzo and Caisedo especially Caicedo if I May be honest. Which kind of players this club really want?
