Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night is exactly the type of impact he wants to see from the team.

The coach has second-half substitute, Noni Madueke to thank for the victory, after the winger came off the bench to win a penalty, convert it, and hand Chelsea maximum points at Stamford Bridge.

“We are Chelsea and we need to fight. I’m so glad Noni Madueke could step up,” Pochettino said after the match.

“That’s the impact we need. Come on, and go to fight. That’s the way we need to build this project.

“Not the players complaining, or saying they need more time, but stepping up. We need to step up and change our mentality.”

He added: “Always slow passes, slow movements, the ball always ran so slow… so I am a little bit disappointed.

“We came from a very bad dressing room against Wolves, and today wasn’t easy.”
