Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his plan for Christopher Nkunku.

Nkunku recently returned from a long-term injury that he suffered during pre-season.

The 26-year-old made his Premier League debut during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wolves. He’d previously been named in the squad that beat Sheffield United 2-0, but didn’t play the match. The forward also came on from the bench as Chelsea progressed to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup last Tuesday.

Chelsea fans were excited to see Nkunku finally play his first league game in Chelsea colours earlier in the week, and the Blues fans are looking to see more of him.

Meanwhile, Pochettino has revealed he plans to play Nkunku as a 10 or 9 for now until he gets used to the demands of the Premier League.

“Because he’s coming back from injury, I think he’s best as a ten or a nine, more than from the left or right-hand side,” Poch told a press conference.

“At the moment, to cope with the demand of the Premier League and what the team need, he is better in the middle positions.”
