Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Christopher Nkunku has so much more to offer despite the impressive display the 26-year-old provided against Crystal Palace.

Nkunku made his first Chelsea start in the 2-1 win over Roy Hodgson’s side at Stamford Bridge after many months of nursing an injury.

Pochettino admits he liked what he saw from the Frenchman, and has now stated that he needs more game time to produce what he is truly capable of.

Asked about the £52m forward after the win against Palace, Poch said: “He needs to adapt to the team and the Premier League, but he played more than 60 minutes and it was an important step for him.

“There were a few combinations that were very good but we need to repeat these actions.

“We need him to be more involved but it’s normal, it’s his first 70 minutes. He needs to play games and he will start to find himself and adapt.”
