Mauricio Pochettino has shared the latest on the health conditions of some of Chelsea’s top players, including Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Lesley Ugochukwu.

Caicedo and Enzo were absent from Chelsea’s 2-1 loss against Wolves on Sunday due to health issues. The Ecuadorian was down with a fever, while his Argentine teammate picked up a hernia problem before the Carabao Cup quarter-final win against Newcastle United last Tuesday.

As for Ugochukwu, the Frenchman reportedly felt something in his hamstring after coming as a late cover for Caicedo on Sunday, and is now a doubt for the Crystal Palace clash this Wednesday.

The coach said: “Enzo no [not available vs Crystal Palace] but we hope Moi yes. Moi was better on Sunday. He had a high fever and that is why he isolated. We hope he can train a little bit and be ready for Palace.”

He added: “We need to assess Lesley [Ugochukwu]; I think he felt his hamstring again [against Wolves]. You have to be careful introducing players coming back from injuries, but the problem of Moi meant it was a difficult situation.”

Poch also said: “To have all of the players fit is the moment when we will find the right balance. At the moment we are trying to compensate as we always have eight, 10, 12 players out, so we have to adapt to find the balance and find solutions…”
