Axel Disasi has admitted he’s happy to see his Chelsea teammate, Christopher Nkunku score his first goal for the club after making his debut against Wolves.

Nkunku came off the bench after 60 minutes, as the Blues searched for an equaliser against Gary O’Neil’s side.

The 26-year-old was arguably Chelsea’s best player for the remainder of the clash, and provided a glimpse of what he can bring to the team when he headed in Raheem Sterling’s Cross into José Sa’s goal in the 94th minute.

It’s been a very tough start to the season for Nkunku, who had been away with an injury for months, but for Disasi, who is well-aware of what the Frenchman is capable of, it wasn’t a surprise to see him score at all.

“Everyone knows the quality of Christo. He came back from a long injury, and I’m happy for him and the team he scored,” the defender told the official Chelsea website after the loss at Wolves.

“He will help us for sure because he has a lot of quality.”

Chelsea will now face Crystal Palace in the next game this Wednesday, and fans will be eager to see Nkunku leading the line for the Blues.
