Mauricio Pochettino has cast doubt over the availability of Romeo Lavia for Chelsea’s Premier League clash this weekend.
The Blues will travel to the Molineux to take on Wolves on Christmas eve, but Lavia is set to miss the match, as he continues to work on his fitness.
The Belgian picked up an injury after joining Chelsea from Southampton over the summer, and has not played since then. He’s however been spotted in training recently, which suggests that his debut for Chelsea isn’t so far away.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s game with Wolves, Pochettino said of Lavia: “Lavia is the same as [Christopher] Nkunku.
“After nearly six months, maybe he will be involved with the team. He is doing well but he still needs time for his best form.”
Enzo Fernandez is also a doubt for Chelsea, after pulling out in the first half of the Carabao Cup quarter-final win against Newcastle on Tuesday with what appeared to be an injury, although nothing has yet been confirmed in that regard.
