Reece James has decided to undergo surgery on his injured hamstring, according to a new report.
The Chelsea captain was hauled off in the 2-0 defeat to Everton earlier this December after picking up the injury.
James has now consulted with the doctors at Stamford Bridge, and it’s been decided that surgery is the best option for him at this time.
The 23-year-old is also now set for another extended time on the sidelines after previously missing about two months of football this season.
Sharing the news on ‘X’ earlier on Thursday, journalist, Fabrizio Romano, said: “Chelsea captain Reece James set to undergo hamstring surgery in Finland — decision has been made with player and club staff involved.
“He’s expected to be back in April, set to miss more than three months this season.”
