Former Chelsea man, Gus Poyet has revealed his impression of some of the players currently at Chelsea, including new signings, Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
Enzo joined the Blues from Benfica in January, while Palmer and Caicedo moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer. The trio cost Chelsea a combined £260m, but it is £40m man, Palmer who has caught the eye the most with his brilliant displays in the last few months.
The 21-year-old already has six goals and five assists for Chelsea, with many pundits singing his praise time and again.
Poyet is the latest person to be impressed by 21-year-old Palmer, who he also says is the opposite of Enzo and Caicedo.
He told talkSPORT: “Now Cole Palmer is the opposite [of Caicedo and Fernandez]. One of the things that’s interesting is that there are too many excuses when they’re young. Palmer is young, he doesn’t have any problems, the mentality, the strength, the quality to go out and perform and take risks and be one of the most consistent players.
“So, I think it’s a working process. Obviously, the coach [Mauricio] Pochettino needs a little bit of time because it’s all new. But, they need to show that they’re getting better and the way to do that is to get yourself in a semi-final.”
Surely, in no time, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will be getting massive recognition as well.
