Former Chelsea defender, Frank Leboeuf has shared his two cents on Chelsea’s reported ongoing search for a top striker.
The duo of Armando Broja and Nicolas have continued to struggle to make an impact in front of goal this season, with just eight goals between them so far this campaign.
The Blues are rumoured to be looking at signing either one of Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney in the coming weeks, but Leboeuf has now expressed doubt they can pull any top striker to Stamford Bridge right now because of the club’s ongoing struggles and lack of Champions League football.
Asked which striker he would sign for Chelsea, the Frenchman told ESPN: “Osimhen would be a very good target.
“Before trying to sell players in order to buy a striker, you have to make a list of available strikers and strikers who are willing to come. I’m not sure you’re going to find anybody.
“Chelsea is not playing in the Champions League. Chelsea is 12th in the league. Which top strikers would like to come to play for Chelsea right now? None.
“…Do you really think that Osimhen or anybody else can help Chelsea sort all problems out?”
We need a creative midfielder to supply the balls & a coach. We don’t need a striker.
