Chelsea are reportedly preparing for a massive clear out of players in the January transfer window.
The Blues want to do some business in the coming weeks in terms of bringing a few more players into the club, after Mauricio Pochettino’s public demand for a striker, following his side’s 2-0 defeat against Everton on Sunday.
Chelsea are said to be eyeing a striker, a midfielder, and one defender, but to fund these transfers, they will have to sell a few players of their own in order to avoid breaking FFP rules.
Per ESPN, Some of the players that have been listed for sale are Noni Madueke, Ian Maatsen, Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Cucurella and Armando Broja.
The report further claims that Crystal Palace are already interested in signing Chalobah, while Borussia Dortmund are tracking Maatsen.
Selling Madueke could however prove to be a difficult challenge for Pochettino’s side, seeing as the England youth international signed a seven-year contract when he joined Chelsea in January. A loan move would seem more viable for the player, who was essentially signed because ex-Blues’ manager, Graham Potter pushed for him.
It is also claimed that Broja’s sale would depend on whether or not Chelsea are able to get a more potent striker in the January market, while Cucurella has only played regularly because of the absence of the injured Ben Chilwell.
