Ex-Chelsea player, Craig Burley has urged Mykhailo Mudryk to work on improving his game in terms of scoring goals and producing assists.

Mudryk has shown signs of the talent that made Chelsea splash £89m on him after he moved to Stamford Bridge from Shakhtar Donetsk back in January.

The 22-year-old has however, struggled to create chances and score goals, picking up just two strikes in all of his matches for the Blues so far this season.

Mudryk was at arguably his best form, as Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by Everton on Sunday; his pace troubled the Toffees’ defence and he created a few chances, especially in the first half. However, he still lacked that cutting edge that is required of a player with his potential, and Burley has now warned him to improve in that aspect, as talent alone is never enough.

The pundit told ESPN FC: “Mykhailo Mudryk has got a talent. But until he figures out that he’ll be judged on the end product in the final third, then he’s got a problem, because he’s got all the pace in the world, he’s got a lot of tricks, he can drop a shoulder, he’ll outsprint you, but there’s no point in doing that and getting the crowd on their feet, off the chair when you get to the end zone and you shank it out of bounds or you just pick the wrong pass out.”
