Chelsea midfielder, Moises Caicedo has recalled how he signed for Chelsea over the summer.

The Ecuadorian moved to Stamford Bridge from Brighton after an agreement was reached with the Seagulls for £115m.

However, it wasn’t entirely that easy for Chelsea, who had to contend with Liverpool for the player.

Liverpool had tabled an impressive offer of £105m, which was accepted by Brighton, but according to Caicedo, he found it tough to say ‘No’ to Chelsea because he already agreed to join the West Londoners.

“I was talking with Chelsea for a long time. It was impossible to say no to Chelsea, because they were with me supporting me,” Caicedo said in a chat with Sky Sports.

“In the summer I suffered a lot because it was complicated to leave Brighton. They were with me, and in the last moment Liverpool called me but it was [too] late because I wanted to play for Chelsea. It was tough to say no to Chelsea.”

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp recently claimed his side dodged a bullet by missing out on Caicedo, who has so far, found it difficult to succeed at Chelsea, but the player himself has assured everyone that he will surely regain his best form again soon.
