Chelsea are considering signing one of the five strikers on their shortlist for the January transfer window, according to reports.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are lacking in the goal department this season, and the Argentine has made it clear he wants more firepower to bolster his squad.
The Blues are said to be monitoring up to five forwards, with a view to signing one of them in the coming weeks.
The Evening Standard claims that Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are on Pochettino’s list due to their proven goalscoring record and their heights, which is above 6ft. Chelsea may however struggle to sign either of them due to Financial Fair Play constraints.
Elsewhere, the Blues are also said to be considering Sporting Lisbon star, Viktor Gyökeres, who has netted 15 goals across 18 games. The 25-year-old has certainly done well at the Portuguese club after moving there from Coventry City over the summer.
Gyökeres’ countryman, Roony Bardghji is another name on Chelsea’s shortlist. The 18-year-old has scored 11 times in 30 matches for FC Copenhagen this season, and particularly caught the eye with the wonderful goal he scored against Man United in the UEFA Champions League group stage last month.
The fifth name on Chelsea’s shortlist is Antonio Nusa, who plays for Club Brugge. The 18-year-old is a promising talent, who nearly joined the Blues in the summer transfer window, but ended up remaining in Belgium after his deadline day move collapsed.
Only first two listed names can be better than the last listed one’s. Why is this club likes to sign teen players who can not excel immediately impact as they want? Just to deal with it. A move for Victor Osimen or Ivan Toney could be the Best than teens who will only ended up being loaned when they come to Stamford Bridge. And this FFP will be there indeed only if CFC are not careful when signing players who can atleast save them from signing in each window transfer, fullstop. That gonna help the club
