Chelsea have seen some managerial changes at the club in the last year.

Graham Potter, who was hired from Brighton following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel at the beginning of last season, was fired in April 2023.

However, a new report has now revealed that the soft-spoken manager might have lost his job way before then if some members of the Chelsea board had their way.

According to football.london, Potter’s sack was discussed back in 2022, even before Christmas. Some members of the board wanted him gone earlier, but ultimately, he was afforded more time, and still couldn’t change the fortunes of the Blues.

Frank Lampard was brought in on a caretaker basis after Potter’s departure, but the Chelsea legend could not do much too, as his former club finished the 2022-23 campaign in 12th place.

Mauricio Pochettino arrived last summer, but so far, the Argentine also appears to be struggling to instil his tactics into the current set of players at Stamford Bridge.

Rumours have started to fly that the 51-year-old could also lose his job, although reports claim he still has the backing of the owners of Chelsea.
