
Chelsea have confirmed that Reece James is injured, and will be out for a while after the 23-year-old sustained an injury during Sunday’s 2-0 loss away to Everton.
James pulled out of the game midway through the first half, and had to be replaced by Levi Colwill.
The Chelsea captain reportedly felt something in his hamstring, which has been assessed by the medical team at Stamford Bridge, with the club revealing that he will now begin his rehabilitation programme.
“Captain Reece James has undergone medical assessment following Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Everton,” a statement from Chelsea on Tuesday read.
“The defender was withdrawn during the first half at Goodison Park, and scan results have confirmed a hamstring injury.
“Reece will now begin his rehabilitation programme at Cobham.”
Meanwhile, journalist, Fabrizio Romano also shared an update on the issue, and suggested that the right-back will be out for up to three months.
