Former Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew has bemoaned Chelsea’s lack of progress this season, despite the huge amount of money they have spent over the last few transfer windows.
The Blues are 12th on the Premier League table after losing their seventh game of the season in the 2-0 defeat against Everton on Sunday.
Pardew later told talkSPORT: “The dial hasn’t moved much from Graham Potter’s time, let’s be honest.
“You spend all this money, have this fantastic manager in place, and nothing is happening on the pitch. That is a real concern for a club that’s won as much as anyone.
“This weekend is a real worry. To go to Everton like that and [give] that performance, it’s just not good enough for the financial commitment that’s been made.”
Pardew also claimed that part of Chelsea’s problems is that they have gone and sold some of the wrong players over the years.
“Crystal Palace’s best player is an ex-Chelsea player, Marc Guehi, he’s absolutely brilliant,” he added.
“He would play every week for them, absolutely no doubt. They made errors in releasing players too.”
