Everton boss, Sean Dyche has stated that his side will be ready and waiting for Chelsea when the two sides meet in their first Premier League match of the season at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea are desperately in need of a win after Wednesday’s 2-1 loss away at Manchester United, which left them trailing fourth-placed Manchester City with 11 points.
Everton, on the other hand, have won two of their last three games, including a surprise 3-0 thumping of Newcastle last Thursday, and look ready for the challenge.
Furthermore, the Toffees have beaten Chelsea in four of their last five home league matches, and while previewing the upcoming game, Dyche said his side will be up for the challenge.
“It certainly helps when the standard is high in the training ground, which I think we’ve got now,” he said (via evertonfc.com).
“The culture and environment we’re working in is very good. I spoke to [the players] this week about the drive and determination to train properly every day. I think that’s growing all the time.
“It’s a home game; our fans are going to be right up for it, obviously. So, those things help with that bit of energy you need as a footballer and as a team. We’ll certainly be coming back to Goodison in good shape and ready for the next challenge.”
