Ian Wright and Roy Keane are in agreement of one Chelsea player as it pertains to the England players that should (and will) make it to the 2024 European Championship.

Raheem Sterling has been amazing for Chelsea this season – and in far better form than he was in his debut season for the Blues, after the £50m switch from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.

Despite scoring six goals in 17 games across all competitions this term, Gareth Southgate has continued to snub Sterling for England’s international games in the past few months, much to the surprise of many.

However, Wright and Keane seem to agree that the 28-year-old has done well really well this season, and should be the one to occupy the left-wing for England when the European Championship starts next year.

Asked whether he would start Sterling on England’s left wing over Jack Grealish, Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden, Wright said on The Overlap: “Yeah, with the experience and the way he’s playing, absolutely… I’d probably go with Raheem, depending on how Anthony Gordon continues to go.”

Manchester United great, Keane, was also asked the same question, to which he replied: “I wouldn’t be against Sterling going in there.”

Jamie Carragher, who was with them then added: “I think Gareth will pick Rashford. I think he’s got that spot at the minute.”
