Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that two more Chelsea players picked up an injury during Sunday’s away defeat to Everton, aside from Reece James.

The Blues were beaten 2-0 by the Toffees away at Goodison Park.

The biggest worry for Pochettino and Chelsea fans however, is their captain, James suffering another hamstring problem after feeling something in his leg during the first half of the meeting at the Goodison.

Goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez also came off with a recurring knee injury which he first picked up in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in midweek, while Marc Cucurella also suffered a twisted ankle in Sunday’s match.

Sanchez and Cucurella were replaced with Djordje Petrovic and Ian Maatsen, respectively, but the growing injury list is of serious concern for Pochettino, who is now hoping that the recently injured players don’t take too long to recover.

The 51-year-old told his post-match presser: “He [Sanchez] suffered a problem against Manchester United in his knee and he felt something in the second half.

“Hope it is not a big issue like Marc Cucurella, twisted his ankle. Hope we can recover as soon as possible.

“These type of circumstances we are dealing with from the beginning and it is too much if we want to progress.”
