Some Chelsea fans appear to be unhappy with Ian Maatsen, following his behaviour after the game between Manchester United and Chelsea in midweek.
The Blues lost the match 2-1, with Sofyan Amrabat running the midfield for Erik ten Hag’s men.
Maatsen was not in the starting line-up, but came off the bench in the second-half.
However, it is what the Dutchman did after the match that some fans are unhappy about.
After the game, Amrabat took to his social media to share his excitement and appreciation with United fans. But rather than move on, Maatsen went and dropped a comment that Chelsea fans did not find amusing.
The 21-year-old commented with a ‘fire’ emoji and a ‘saluting’ emoji under Amrabat’s caption, which reads: “Great spirit and great performance! Thanks for the amazing support.”
Some Chelsea fans feel that Maatsen’s action was disrespectful, especially seeing as his side had just been beaten by United.
Maatsen has struggled to get regular minutes under Mauricio Pochettino this season, and has been linked with a potential January exit.
