Explained: Why key Chelsea figure has stayed away from Stamford Bridge lately

Todd Boehly has not been spending time at Chelsea the way he previously did after he purchased the club from Roman Abramovich.

The American has invested so much of his money into the new project, and wants to see some success follow.

Boehly was spotted at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea beat Brighton 3-2 on Sunday. It was a very rare sight in recent times, and one that hasn’t happened often this season.

The Mail reports that Boehly’s decision to not involve himself so much in the affairs of Chelsea these days is deliberate.

Apparently, the businessman has been delegating some of the things he previously did to other people at the club while he attends to other issues.

One good example of this is the transfer duties he used to take on by himself before, but he has now appointed two sporting directors to bear that burden for him.
