Chelsea captain Reece James has insisted that the Blues should have picked up at least a point from the game against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Chelsea suffered a 2-1 loss at Old Trafford after producing arguably one of their worst performances of the season.
James didn’t start the game, and even after he came on, much didn’t change, with the 23-year-old struggling to make an impact from the right wing, and also struggled with the defensive role as well.
He has now urged his teammates and the coaching crew to come together and help Chelsea move up the Premier League table.
“It’s disappointing to come here and walk away with nothing,” he said to club media.
“We were probably lucky to be 1-1 at half-time. They missed a penalty and had another chance they should have scored in the first half. When I came on we were in the game.
“To win games you need to take chances. We had lots in the first half and a couple in the second. We created a lot, but we weren’t clinical in taking our chances. They took a couple of theirs.
“We knew Manchester United are an amazing team and coming here would be hard. They didn’t surprise us. It’s tough to say why we lost, but we have to move on.”
