Manchester United bounced back from a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle on Saturday to beat Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Scott McTominay was the hero for Erik ten Hag’s side, who dominated the ball for most of the 90+ minutes.

The Blues were undone by two goals from the Scotland international, despite Cole Palmer scoring a first-half equaliser.

Speaking on why he’s been scoring lots of goals lately for club and country, McTominay opened up on the advice he received from those around him.

“It’s something I want to keep building, in terms of my game,” he said post-game to MUTV.

“People tell me that I can do more of it and I can score goals and you just have to believe in yourself.

“My mum and dad have always said just get in the box and try and score goals, and my grandad at home, and sometimes it’s just believing in yourself.

“As long as the team are playing well and I am contributing then I am happy.”

The Chelsea defence went to sleep for both of McTominay’s goals.
