Chelsea legend, John Obi Mikel has backed Moises Caicedo to improve and get better at the club over time.

Caicedo joined Chelsea from Brighton for a whopping £115m in the summer after a failed Liverpool attempt to sign him.

The Ecuadorian has however not yet started to show the same form that saw Todd Boehly fork out that heavy amount to bring him from the Amex Stadium, but Mikel believes the midfielder will adapt with time.

He told CNN: “We all know he didn’t start really well. First few games, he struggled quite a lot. We thought [N’Golo] Kante had two lungs, but everybody said that Caicedo has three lungs, he can run even more than Kante. So we want to see that, we want to see that.

“Has he started putting in those performances yet? I don’t think so. Will he get there? I think he will get there. I think he played really well the last couple of games against Spurs and City. It comes with a huge pressure. It definitely comes with a huge pressure if you’ve been bought for over one hundred million. So I think he’ll get there. He’s a fantastic player.”
