Former Chelsea man, Denis Zakaria has claimed that his times at Chelsea and Juventus were not very memorable.

The Swiss international spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Chelsea after proving surplus to requirements at Juventus. He however struggled to play regularly during his time at Stamford Bridge before he returned to Italy.

“I didn’t find it easy, but it was also the period in which I learned the most in my career,” he told RMC.

“After living through a similar period you realise that you can’t take anything for granted and the only thing you can do is work to stay where you are.

“Now I’m giving everything I have to put that moment behind me because it’s very complicated for a player.

“When you have few options, even being physically ready is not easy. Furthermore, on a mental level you would like to play and you can’t. It was also frustrating because the team wasn’t doing well.”

Zakaria left Juventus for AS Monaco in the summer, and has managed to get more regular minutes under his belt since the start of the season.
